Bruce Trail

Tobermory Brewing Co.

5.2% Alcohol

According to the can this beer is “inspired by local adventure spots, the Bruce Trail and Fathom Five National Marine Park.” According to the can you can “get to know the neighbourly feel of a small village.” And according to the can in very small print, this beer was “Brewed in London, Ontario”. According to Google maps London Ontario is about 300kms and a 4 hour drive from Tobermory. Sounds like someone got lost on the Bruce Trail. Maybe they were enjoying a few blonde ales while hiking instead of after?

Whenever I hear about the Bruce Trail I get the feeling someone is telling me to take a hike.*

A nice bright pour, what you would expect from a blonde ale. Fresh aroma, whatever that means, but that was the word that came to mind so I am sticking with it. Good flavour, smooth and refreshing. A fine blonde ale, whether it comes from the Northern Tip of the Bruce Peninsula, or from the bowels of Ontario, I know, a fairly unpleasant geographical reference.**

Bright, fresh and refreshing with a solid flavour that delivers through the whole quaff.

*Editor’s Comment: And often when the conversation has nothing to do with the Bruce Trail.

** Editor’s Comment: Why not the Deep South of Ontario, or tobacco country, or the doorstep to Octoberfest, or the great South West, or the other London on the Thames, or Erie’s North shore?
