Visiting our neighbor to the south so I thought it would be neighborly to sample one of their fine brews. But not just any beer. How about one brewed at the oldest brewery in America, Yuengling from Pottsville Pennsylvania. Founded in 1829. Seems like a babe in the woods compared to Czechvar’s 700 years, but it is the new world after all.
Their traditional lager, the original amber colored lager. It is a very impressive amber colour.
Straight from the bottle, a nice solid amber lager with a good malt flavor, a bit of carbonation and a bit of an aftertaste, very slight finishing bitters. All good. A traditional lager as claimed but with some amber in the mix, yet a moderate ABV. Tasty and easy drinking.
