Poolside and the selection of brews is minimal, so this buds for me. In an aluminum bottle that looks like a thermos or artillery ammo. I guess they don’t want any broken glass for tenderfoots to tread on, fair enough. At least it will keep the quaff cold on a steamer of an afternoon. The king of beers is a pretty lofty statement, certainly no inferiority complex in play here. The rice in their ingredients produces a lighter, crisper taste, originally one of the distinctive differences between European and American brews.
An American style pale lager, budweiser defined what we expect from American style beers, light easy drinking brews. The up to 30% rice in the mix is certainly different from the Czechvar budweiser brew. *
The beer is the standard traditional light American pale lager, minimal flavor maximum ease of quaffing. Refreshing when ice cold. Unfortunately despite being served in what resembles a thermos, this bud did not stay cold for me long enough to finish it. I guess I don’t drink as fast as I used to. If it isn’t ice cold it isn’t as good. Classic American pale ale, it set the original standard which most craft beers surpass these days. The king isn’t dead but he isn’t ruling the roost any more either, a figurehead from days gone by.
