Don’t Eat the Sushi

Sapporo Premium

Sapporo Brewing Company

5% Alcohol

If you are at a Japanese restaurant beware of a dish they call “sushi”. I had to send mine back, it was raw. But if you are at a Japanese restaurant of any repute they may have a Sapporo for you, certainly a healthier choice than raw fish. A Sapporo Premium* to be precise.

So after getting gypped by the Damm crafty Spaniards (or was it Newfoundlanders?) with 325mL of gluten missing (or gluten low beer, no one knows for sure) it was nice to get a bonus beer. 500ml of Sapporo Premium vs 475ml of our North American cans of beer is just that. And just like you, and my old buddy Farmer Steve, I am always eager to stretch my drinking dollar a bit farther when I can. ‎I mean you can’t buy a 6 pack for $2 like in the 70’s and those RRSPs won’t last forever.  But wait a minute, is this a Japanese beer?  The name sounds Japanese but on the can it says Guelph** Canada?

SP is fresh, crisp and easy drinking, no bitter, no bite, a clean finish. Wherever it comes from it is an OK beer, with an international beer volume 5% bonus with every can you quaff.

*Editor's Comment: Sapporo is the oldest brand of beer in Japan, founded in 1876. Sapporo Draft in Japan is Sapporo Premium in North America.

** Editor's Comment: Sapporo owns Sleemans who are based in Guelph.
