This is a seasonal offering from Revelstoke, B.C. Revelstoke is home to most vertical ski terrain in North America, which explains the skier on the label. To get an idea of what the skiing is like there, check out some of the names of the runs. Kill the Banker, Parachute and Brake Check let you know these are not runs for the casual skier.*
So I was braced for an intense beer from these guys.
An excellent pour with a spicy aroma. There is a ton of flavour in this beer with cloves, cinnamon and even some chocolate notes in there. But I found the spices were a bit overpowering (which is likely what I would also find of the ski runs). I shared this brew with my wife who was also not a fan of the spice combination. It is a hearty bevvy with lots of flavour, but the taste isn’t really smooth to my taste.
This feels like a miss. The spices are a bit overpowering and don’t really combine in a way that pleases the palette.
