Well the summer is finally here in full force and while I do enjoy the great outdoors and all those summer activities, they can create a powerful thirst. Nothing better than to quaff a cool one in the summer. This beer looked delicious right out of the can with a deep honey tone and a nice head. It did not disappoint. None of that extreme watery, ultra light blandness in this glass. I got a bit of pine at the start, but then the bitterness kicks in with a butterscotch smoothness at the end.
An excellent pairing with a hot summer day. This beer is made in Paris – no not that Paris. The Paris Beer Company a family farm where they grow their own hops. They also know how to brew beer as I discovered that this brew was awarded a gold medal at the Ontario Brewing awards in 2022. I guess I’m not alone in liking this excellent pilsner. The folks at Paris have won a number of awards and I’m guessing they aren’t done yet based on this sampling.
Make sure you’re ready for full flavour and a hoppiness that will make you think it might be more than the 25 IBU posted on the label. Not that I’m complaining. This cool one I’ll take anyday.
