This beer should be ejected from the space ship.
You would think a new brew from Refined Fool Brewing would be a decent quaff as I’ve had some very good beers from there in the past. I looked past the cat in a space suit on the can and focused on “Hazy IPA”. I was in for a disappointment, they may have spent too much effort on the label and not enough on the contents.
The colour was a bit light, but the haziness was expected. A bit too much sediment in the bottom – looked like the dregs there for sure. The taste was off – I’m thinking the cat might have been involved in more than just posing in a space suit for the label. There is a slight industrial scent when I poured it, which started to stir my crankiness level right from the start.
There is a bitter hoppy flavour for sure, but there is another, unwelcome, smeggy flavour there as well. My guess is that the cat might have contributed to this brew without the brew master noticing.
Maybe the summer sun got to this one before I had a chance to open it? In any case, don’t let this cat get out of the bag.
