Pale Ale

Silversmith Brewing Co.

This pale rider rode into town meaning business. Of course, that business being quenching my thirst. Silversmith has been on a roll with COMDB. Our first intro to the Virgil church-based brewer was The Black Lager and since then all of their offerings have received rave reviews. Cheers and cheers. But can this Pale Ale join the others and obtain the height of craft beer supremacy, that being ever-elusive, effusive, and profusive COMDB super suds status?* A taste test will tell the tale.

Nothing pale about this pour, bright golden in the tankard, soon to be in the tank. Fresh malt aroma, with a touch of fruit but as subtle as a side eye. I was sporting a powerful thirst so this first taste was a highly anticipated quaff. And this pale did not disappoint. Fresh, crisp with mild bitters, very refreshing. Not much fruit in there but I’m not missing it either. A touch of floral but not too much. Big swig fresh, a crisp malt base and some slight fruit with a dash of floral on the finish.

More pieces of silver from our favourite Silversmith and this one is super suds gold.

*Editor’s Comment: The reviewer is risking getting his literary license suspended with this series of adverbs that fuse but may also confuse. Effusive means expressing feelings of approval or gratitude in a heartfelt manner. Profusive means excessive or abundant. Call me pedantic.

*Reviewer’s Comment: I was going to call you something else and tell you to pull that thesaurus out of your ass.

Final Rating: Another Angelic Ale from the Church of Silversmith at 16 out of 20
