Another offering from our a Swedish gypsy brewer Omnipollo* was my wing can for the bud’s season opener last night. Another Swede, Nylander,** contributed to an exciting win over the much hated Habs. But the hat trick hero of the night was Matthews who was shooting, scoring and earning his money. And Marner with the shoot out winner. A more exciting game than it should have been, but still a win. The start of a perfect season and the quest for the ultimate prize, the cup. A 57-year wait is long enough, I think this year is the year.***
Time to apprise this Prize Pils to see if it really is a winner. This brew pours as brilliant as Matthews’ performance last night. Very pale yellow, a bright light on a dark night. Fresh mild malt aroma with some fruit in there too. A fresh mild malt slightly fizzy body with a nice crisp finish, touch of hops but no bitters. Refreshing, easy drinking, and very good. Prize worthy. This is exactly what I hope for in a Pilsner.
