Kicking off COMDB Muskoka Oktober festing weekend with a visit to Clear Lake. Six Cranky Old Men, five festers ordering draft, and one ab-stoner who did not go unnoticed by the very accommodating bar staff.
“Will you be having a beverage with your meal” was a redundant question as far as I was concerned. No question mark required. Perhaps we will be festering the next day, but tonight we are festing. A Festbier on tap seemed to be the most fitting of many good brews from which to choose.
A golden draught of draft, just what the festers ordered. A full bright white light early night quite the sight just right head occupied the upper 1/5th of my glass. A full flavoured start with some grainy hops in there too and a bit of bitters for backup. Fest forward to the third swig and it’s smoothing out, still full flavoured but with a touch of lager sweet showing up to tie a bow on it. A classic Festbier, very easy drinking, maybe too easy. A great start to a fun filled fest of a weekend.
Beers with tears, of the laugh out loud variety. Great meal, great company and the great little biggest beer spa in the world brewery. Our server was the hostess with the mostess and received a well deserved toast from us. Well done Clear Lake.
