Dobie Gray just wanted to drift away. Clint was on the high plains drifting. And Bow Wow was doing the Tokyo drift. In case you aren’t familiar with Bow Wow perhaps you know him from his original stage name, Lil’ Bow Wow.* Back here in the COMDB land of semi-reality I popped and poured one. A Drift that is.

A Memorable Midriff

Drifting on the lake is over, snow drifts are on their way. We are mid-drift I guess, which reminds me of Shania Twain, if you catch my drift.  Am I digressing a bit, drifting perhaps?

This brew pours light citrus and hazy with a nice white snow drift on the roof. I detect a peach mango magical aroma. Nice. The taste is pineapple peachy keen with just a touch of zing, a very slight fizz hoppy finish. I didn’t find any of the advertised pillows of clouds, but instead a watery mouthfeel which results in a very easy drinking juicy light refreshing brew. As it warmed, a bit of juicy funk evolved, all good. It’s really a dockside summer suds of a quaff, a June July juicer, a beat the heat treat. But any time is a good time for a good time, and this brew is a good time.

*Editor’s Comment: Dobie Gray (Lawrence Darrow Brown) released his hit single “Drift Away” in 1973. Written by Mentor Williams, the song has been covered by a number of artists over the years. Clint Eastwood starred in and directed the 1973 western “High Plains Drifter”. Bow Wow, formerly Lil’ Bow Wow (real name Shad Gregory Moss) was part of the cast of the 2006 action movie “The Fast & the Furious: Tokyo Drift”.
