JT sight seeing to take his mind off of Dry February
JT is travelling to try and take his mind off dry February. Across the pond, taking in the sites, “drinking” in the local culture so to speak, and counting the days. As for the rest of us, duty calls in the form of a well stocked beer fridge and a frosty brew or two. Including this eclectic Mexico inspired offering from Burlington Brewers.
No this isn’t another 0% Corona, but a Mexican IPA. The COMDB translation department made short work of this one. They said “corn” which initially I thought was an uncalled for reference to my reviewing techniques. “No, maiz means corn.” They said. Then they added “but your reviews are a.. maiz… ing” and they chortled a bit at their linguistic witticisms. Of course corn is one of the primary grains in most Mexican style lagers.* BB has combined lagering techniques with corn and with dry hopped Citra to come up with this one.
A clear bright golden glass in hand, with head at hand. A light hoppy aroma, some juice. And the taste is a fizzy middlin’ juicy and very mild hoppy, a nice light refreshing combo. It doesn’t look fizzy in the glass but it makes up for it on the tongue. I’m usually not a fizz fan but this fizz fits. A consistent brew from pour to score with a very slight grapefruit bitter finish. A real poolside refresher, summery suds that are much appreciated during a very undry February.
