According to Hemingway “In every port in the world, at least two Estonians can be found.”* Sure enough, according to the most recent census information, Port Colborne has 10 Estonians. This has next to nothing to do with this beer review, but who doesn’t love quoting Hemingway. By the way, in the book “To Have and Have Not” one thing Harry Morgan doesn’t have is his left arm. Perhaps Hemingway’s earlier book “A Farewell to Arms” is a prequel?*
This is the third Breakwall brewski to be poured and scored by us COM and appears to be their mainstay. So far, the Port Colborne brewer is batting 1000, let’s see if they can keep their super suds streak alive.
A golden clear pour, bright and light. A slim whitecap of a head up against the breakwater. A Breakwall bakery bread malt aroma going on here. A very smooth malt bread with some lager sweet. No hops or bitters for what ales you. Ship shape suds, classic easy drinking ale. As crushable as a malt forward brew can get. Looks like Breakwall has kept their hitting streak alive, this brew is a hit for sure.
When it comes to having a beer in Port Colborne, give me a break.
