Do or die time for the Leafs. Having the immediate family gathered to cheer them on meant explaining the difference between offside and icing more times than I would care to, but how often do you get to have that family quality time together for a Leafs game 7?* As things got tense the grandkids got sent to bed to avoid exposure to any inappropriate language that Poppy may inadvertently intone. A Counterpart Pure Pilsner went with pure anxiety which turned to pure joy, which after 1 minute 21 seconds turned into pure frustration.** OT turned into Oh No, and my beloved buds are history for another season. All that’s left to do is reminisce about 1967. All I can say is “Go Oilers Go!”
A golden clear slightly bubbly pour, the word pure comes to mind for some reason. A very slight malt aroma, not much more on the nose. The taste is mild malt with some surprising apple fruit sweet in there and a very crisp borderline acetic finish. The bubbles in the glass don’t show up in the tasting. As it evolves the apple sweet departs with some floral notes come into play. The floral competes with the crisp a bit and what results is a middlin’ semi crisp refreshing pils. Socks still on but A-Ok.
