Kawartha Lakes is making waves. But no need to worry. We aren’t talking tsunami size or even tidal for that matter. By the way, why do they call those gigantic waves “tidal”?* Ever watched the tide come in? If the tide is supposed to be making waves it’s doing a piss poor job of it I’d say. An 8 hour affair and all you get are lazy waves.
Superb segue if I say so myself, and alliterative as well. KL tell us that their Lazy Waves is a lazy hazy IPA designed for “maximum drinkability”. That is to be determined.
The classic lazy wave, royally done.
Although we just dealt with a lazy bear, when I first heard lazy waves I immediately thought of the late great Queen Elizabeth. Her hand slowly waving in the breeze of another monarchial motorcade. Enough royal reminiscing, time to make some waves in my chilled glass.
A golden peachy pour, and ironically this lazy wave has a whitecap rolling in. Citrus peach aroma through the foam. Definitely peachy juicy (love me a peach) with a foamy mouthfeel and a fizzy body with a hoppy funky finish and some bitters on the aftertaste, a very drinkable sequence of events taste wise. As it evolves the hoppiness joins the citrus peach party, the funk and fizz are gone, with some grapefruit bitters finishing. A nice balance happening here.
By my third swig KL’s goal of maximum drinkablity was achieved.
