Aliens Exist

Illegal alien, armed and dangerous.

According to Short Finger Brewing aliens exist. Maybe in Bugs Bunny cartoons, Rod Serling stories and Ridley Scott movies they do. I googled “pictures of aliens” and guess what. They all look like ET! I guess Spielberg knew something we didn’t. As far as official recognition goes, the US seems to be OK with legal aliens but can’t stand illegal ones. To deal with the alien invasion they took a page out of Pink Floyd’s play book and decided to build a wall. This is their strategy against possible alien-nation.

One thing I know with certainty that does exist is this mixed fermented pale ale in my glass. Mixed fermentation consists of using a variety (instead of a single strain) of yeast and bacteria or other microbes that are perhaps unconventional in conventional brewing. Resulting in, you guessed it, sometimes unconventional brews.  Case in point, Aliens Exist.

This brew pours a clear golden, doing its best pilsner impersonation. As far as aroma goes, although I’ve popped a couple of corks in my day, I’m no connoisseur of the bubbly but this brew definitely has a champagne aroma. The taste is a very light bubbly brut IPA. A fizzy busy champagne beer. Not the taste I expected and not the taste they were going for either I don’t think or maybe they were? It’s almost a sour. No, it’s a cross between a sour and a saison and a brut IPA and about as appetizing as that sounds.

Not illegal if you are 19 or over, but certainly an unconventional alien.
