What Italy Doesn’t Have

Italian Speedo

Clear Lake Brewing Co.

5% Alcohol

Sure Italy has the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain and the Leaning Tower of Pisa, but you know what Italy doesn’t have? That’s right, they don’t have the largest beer spa in the world. You have to make a visit to Clear Lake Canada to experience a suds spa that’s a mother like no other. The Muskoka Beer spa even has its own beach, but the only Italian Speedo you’ll find there is in the tap room at the Clear Lake Brewery. Which begs the question, why were you looking for an Italian speedo in the first place?

A hazy muted malted golden pour, sediments settling slowly, it’s like a suds snow globe. A mild malt acerbic bitters aroma combo. First taste is light malt that goes immediately to a pils crisp then bitters. The bitters are pronounced bordering on acerbic but never quite get there. It starts out in sequence, but the malt crisp bitters all combine into one big package in my Italian speedo. That definitely didn’t sound right, did it.

Bitters are the body, the finish and the main feature for this perky pilsner.

*Editor’s Comment: The Muskoka Beer Spa located on Clear Lake and operated by Clear Lake Brewing Co. is reported to be the largest beer spa in the world based on acreage. The site includes cabins, pools, hot tubs, saunas, a dump bucket and a beach among its many amenities. With a draft tap and keg in every cabin.
