Boathouse brews, V-Twin rides and pints by the pool. As Bon Jovi would say, it feels something like summertime. * And it’s about time. I hear some people say “summer is nice but fall is my favourite time of the year”. Or others that say “summer is just too hot, give me spring over summer any day”. Well, I call Bull Shit. Summer rocks, it’s the best, and anyone who would stay in bed all day instead of enjoying an endless summer would have to be crazy. **
Collective Arts challenge us to drink creatively with their Summer Ale. Not our first Summer Ale either, which got me thinking. Hey CA, I challenge you to name this beer creatively. How about “Super Swiggable Summer Suds”, or “Spring Pales by Comparison”. Maybe “Anytime is a Good Time for Summertime”. But when all is said and done we all know what’s in the can is more important than what’s on the can.
A light lemony orange golden pour with a thin bright white surf topside. An OJ grapefruit hops aroma, a citrus fruit salad on the nose. First taste is juicy stone fruit sweet with some malt funk, not really hoppy, no bitters so far. Some pineapple joins the citrus with a touch of tang. Five Alive ale. It forms the basis of what could be a super sour. Big swiggable? You bet. It’s an easy juicy tasty pale. Hey CA, this PA is A-OK. Taste like summertime.
