The cerveceras and banderleros at Broadhead have whipped up a light Mexican lager with lime for us and in a stroke of marketing genius and brew naming creativity seldom seen they have named it……Mexican Lager with Lime. I guess they had to save some money from their marketing budget to afford the soaring prices of that citrus scurvy scourge. * After all, when it comes to a Mexican Lager, you can’t make the scene if you ain’t got the green.
I’m not a big fan of hard work, especially if I’m required to do it. But that’s exactly the position I found myself in, and we all know from chemistry class, thermodynamics to be specific, that the principal endothermic/ exothermic reaction is “physical exertion + hot weather = big time thirst”. Having taken a course and been duly certified in thirst aid, I knew I was due for a brew or two.
Right out if the can makes for a poor pour report, but thirst things thirst. A full flavoured maize malt Mexican with some just right lime, with an unexpected bitter finish. On second quaff, it’s not bitters but a lime malt pint counterpint debate going on. Big swigs abound, going down and all around. Thirst quenching with lots of flavour for a 3.5. The finish was not exactly the end all be all, but so be it.
