Cranky Old Man Wins Prestigious Award

Cranky Old Men Drinking Beer have just learned that one of our reviewers has won a prestigious award. The award ceremony was held earlier today at an undisclosed location, attended by friends and family members. The impressive accolade which was bestowed upon RS was for “Best Dad Ever”. Recognizing that there are as many a 1.5 billion dads on the planet at this time, being the best is no small feat. And since it says best Dad ever, that implies the best as far back as Adam who was raising Cain when he was Able, which calculates to the best out of 23.4 billion dads. Wow.
The beautiful plaque is engraved in what appears to be real wood and is practical as well since in addition to a striking display above the mantel piece it can also be used as a cutting board.
RS responded to this great honour in a very short acceptance speech expressing his gratitude to the nominators, “I was really hoping for some beer. Did you keep the receipt?”
In addition to the distinction of being the best dad ever, the recognition also includes a royal designation of “King of the Grill”. Since RS is the author of The COMDB Guide to the Fine Art of BBQing, this makes some sense, unless you have read the guide. We still have to confirm whether this royal decree includes a Knighthood.
