A Pint of Portside Pilsner Please

Portside Pilsner

Lock Street Brewery

5% Alcohol

Out to lunch* with my much better half (as I am regularly reminded)  and procuring a pint of Portside Pilsner portside seemed to make all kinds of sense. Portside as in Port Dalhousie. Of course, I pronounced it “Dal – how-sie” as in the Halifax University but the Department of Pronunciation (the missus) seemed to be pleased to correct me. Dal-who-sie? How, who, no that’s still not correct. Apparently, it’s De-lu-zi? Where do we get a “lucy” out of “housie”? Of course, I know better than to stage a departmental debate.

Sandwich and a pint with the missus consisted of a Portside Pilsner and Lock Street’s Haggard fried chicken sandwich. Extra napkins required, very tasty. Nice big glass, golden sunset pour, a bit hazy, with a white cap head rolling in. An easy drinking pilsner with a touch of sweet and bitter crisp at the end. Mellow. Not as cold as a step mother’s kiss, but matched up with the eats nicely.  Quick service and a good lunch brew combo. Good beer, good food, and the best part of the lunch was the company.

*Editor’s Comment: I can believe that.
