Another tour JT took to get his mind off Dry February
Cheers to Leap Years, an extra day is hard to come by, so I hope you made the most of yours. I sure did. I had a beer. If I have calculated correctly that means I will drink at least one more beer this year than last year. On the other hand, for those like JT suffering through the self-imposed purgatory called Dry February, an extra day in February is the last thing they wanted to see. No sympathy for self-inflicted wounds I always say.
JB and his Papagenu
Sawdust City never seems to be at a loss for unique beer names. Long Dark Voyage to Uranus was certainly noteworthy. Get It In Y’A Ohh Yeah is pretty self-explanatory. And this brew is no different. Tenacious D, in their song “Papagenu (He’s my Sassafrass)”* are tripping on mushrooms and begin a conversation with Sasquatch, their Papagenu. According to SC they added the only hops native to Canada, Sasquatch Hops, to this brew. See how it all comes together so nicely.
Beer time, and if I can sample an Oktoberfester in February I can certainly bring in the Ides of March with a Maibock. This brew pours a dark golden shade, clear, with a full white header. A malt bread aroma. Followed by a malt bread taste with a crisp finish, very nice. Lager start with a Pils closer. Strong and steady, but not rough and ready, malty and bready, crisp and heady. Great taste, it’s full flavoured but approaching crushable. A mild lager sweet is sneaking in there. Usually there is strength in numbers but this 7 percenter is doing its best run of the mill fiver impersonation. Tonight the Leafs are a winner and this brew is a winner, I guess that makes me a winner too. And we all score an extra day this year. Bonus.
