To be honest I have known a lot of Brits over the years and never met one who I would call pompous. And what about those royals? Well I never met one but the wife gets so many of those magazines about them she should be on a first name basis by now.
I did meet a Lord once when I was in England, he was representing the Queen who couldn’t attend because our event was too insignificant (that does sound pompous, doesn’t it). Officially she was indisposed, which I thought meant sick or on the toilet, or maybe both. The English and their language. Anyway, Lord Strathcona was regaled in military uniform with medals and a sword. He was an old guy, he told some politically incorrect jokes and was pretty funny. I think maybe he had one or two champagne cocktails that day. Not at all pompous.
So this is a pale ale with some flavor it. A unique taste that I enjoyed at first but got a bit tired of by the end of the glass. I am on the fence on this one. Let’s just say I enjoyed it but won’t be having another one soon. Does that sound a bit pompous?
