Barley Days is a brewer in Prince Edward County that was into craft beer making long before most … they’ve been at it since 2007 … but they are still keeping things fresh and bringing new beers to market. I haven’t tried a new one from them in a while and thought it was about time. This is a great light, summer beer that has more flavour than you would expect. The first sip was delicious. A nice blend of citrus with a hint of ginger added. There is a slight aftertaste – which I find often with wheat beers, but it doesn’t distract from the refreshing feel.
Cloudy out of the can, it is a great choice for the warmer weather. There is enough hoppiness that you know you are drinking a beer and not some fruity vodka drink, but the fruit overtones make for a thirst quenching quaff.
Wheat beers don’t normally fair too well from me – but this one is worth a try.
