Mowin’ the lawn near the end of a hot day. When I mentioned in passing that it seems like ages since I had surfed the turf the missus seemed to have the exact number at hand as in two weeks and 3 days. TMI as far as I am concerned. You see, my thumbs are closer to a light lager than a St.Paddy’s day green. And my lawn is drier than I am after I mow it, which is pretty dry. Environmentalists take pictures of my lawn to show what 50 years of abusing the ozone layer can do to a suburban landscape. Suffice to say that mowin’ my lawn is dusty work. By the time I was done, I was dusty dry and done.
So how about a frosty brewski to slake that dusty dry end of the day thirst. Don’t mind if I do. And what could be more thirst quenching and enjoyable after doing time in the dust bowl that is my yard than a Krispy Light from Junction?* It turns out, much to my enjoyment, that the answer is nothing!
A light orangish brown hazy pour, with an ever so slightly slim head of bright white light. The light malt aroma was fresh and inviting. My much anticipated, and well earned first quaff was light, with a watery mouthfeel and easy drinking with a great mild malt flavour. A bit of the old lager sweet is in there somewhere but subtle and subdued. A crisp, or should I say “krisp” finish rounded out the tasting. It’s not just crispy, it’s krispy!** Exactly what the dusty dry lawn doctor ordered.
Not my first Junction brew and it won’t be my last. Perhaps this brew had an unfair advantage when it came time to pour and score, due to my dehydrated condition. But if there is one thing we know at COMDB is that fair has nothing to do with much of anything.
