The lead singer and Fiona serenading Scotty.

Euro Pilsner and right away I thought of the movie Euro Trip and Matt Damon stealing the show as the band leader making it on the side with Scotty’s girlfriend while singing the song “Scotty Doesn’t Know” on stage with Fiona with Scotty in the crowd. * “I did her on his birthday”, now that’s cold.

What is also cold is this frosty glass into which I poured a pristine pint of Perth Pilsner. Golden semi clear and headless. Maybe a mustache under it but not much on the nose. A very different taste, refreshing apple fruit tingle, not a cider but more a pale ale apple crisp. At this point in the pint you have to ask yourself whether apple is an off taste or the plan. Without a definitive answer another swig is in order.  It doesn’t taste like an old world Pilsner or any world pilsner for that matter. It does start to settle into a more palatable pint with a reasonable full flavour body with a crisp finish. The apple comes and goes and still begs the question should it even be in there in the first place.

This pint bounced around like the silver ball in Tommy. I couldn’t get a fix on it, it was OK but not an old world or an out of this world pilsner. It’s Euro something, we just aren’t sure what.

*Editor’s Comment: In the 2004 movie Euro Trip, Matt Damon plays the lead singer of a band singing “Scotty Doesn’t Know” while he is actually “doing” Fiona behind Scotty’s back. Damon is lip synching to the song done by the band Lustra.
