Prince 2007 Superbowl Halftime Show. Purple love symbol guitar with an orange shirt!
This sour reminded me of the artist formerly and subsequently known as Prince * who was also known as “The Purple One”. And of course his favourite colour was …..orange.** I did see Prince in concert back in the day. I had heard a few of his songs beforehand and wasn’t quite sure what to expect but let me tell you, he could make that funny looking purple guitar talk like nobody’s business. As far as this plum sour goes, I also didn’t know what to expect, it will take a taste test to determine if this is as much of a crowd pleaser as The Purple One was. Or will it be the dreaded and painful playground purple nurple?***
I think I have a reasonable appreciation of sours by now, having sampled a few good ones and a few of the opposite ilk. But I still open each sour can with a combination of anticipation and trepidation. New Ontario is a great brewery, but can they turn a sour, let alone a plum sour, into a positive tasting experience? Do tell.
A pour that would please Prince, a golden orange. Life may be purple but this brew sure isn’t. A subtle sour aroma but even Little Jack Horner couldn’t have plucked a plum out of this mix. A taste is very mild and grape. Refreshing not sour, a very mild tang taste like Grape freshie with a bit of a kick. NO has got it just right with a light subtle tasty plum (grape) sour. An enjoyable easy drinking sour, who would have thunk it?
