Stockyards is batting 1000 in the super suds ratings with us COM, so when I saw a festbier from them, a Kitchner based brewer no less, I thought it could be a tasty Oktoberfester. Unfortunately it’s November, and Oktoberfest is over and although not a distant memory it is certainly a foggy one. But then I recalled the inspiring motivational speech by none other than Senator John Blutarsky who said “It’s not over till we say it’s over.” * Calendar be damned, I’m festing again.
A golden fall leaves kind of pour with a bright white slim foamfest of a headline. A malty aroma, it actually smells like Oktoberfest. I smell the flavour. Taste test time, and what a nice, lager malt smooth and a subtle sweet no hops or bite just a smooth delight festbier this is. Easy easier easiest drinking. This could well be the best fest yet.** Solid malt flavour but easy drinking, nothing over the top, just one great beer. If I had another one in the beer fridge I would have been drinking two great beers.
Prost and prosit, a toast to close it, and now my November Oktoberfest is officially over.
