You couldn’t ask for a better October Muskoka day than this one. Well, I guess you could, but you wouldn’t get it so what’s the point. * Sunny and warm on the lake with Farmer Steve and his boys, and the fat bass-tards were jumping into the boat like nobody’s business. Even Farmer Steve caught one, imagine that! After some strenuous net working, it was time for a light and bright Muskoka Brewery brew to bade farewell to the summer. A curious Kiwi Kölsch can of craft, the scurvy fighting part of the Muskoka survival pack, seemed like an interesting departure from the day to day.
Kiwi as in fruit as opposed to New Zealand hops, and fruity it is. A cloudy golden pour with a slim trim froth. A stone fruit and hops aroma, summertime suds for sure. The taste is a malt and citrus fruit combo, or maybe kiwi? A bit fizzy with a pilsner like crisp finish. Very refreshing, it would be ideal for a sweltering summer on the dock refresher. And it did just fine as a celebration toast after an evening of real fishing that would leave Bob Izumi reeling.**
