Pinball machines, trivia night, happy hour. When I walked in the door, I knew I was in the right place. I believe the art of the alchemist is to turn malt and hops into gold,* so Alchemy is a fitting name for this Kamloops brew pub. Sitting down for a pint with none other than the Rory of Crownsmen fame. I still think that extra “r” in his name is a bit of one upmanship, but I let it pass because he was buying.
Our affable alchemist multitasking server and bartender was top shelf, she knew her brew and without further ado recommended a few. The name Broken Resolution caught my ear, reminding me of dry February, what a long day that was.
A classic draft drawn picture perfect, the pour served with aplomb. The aroma was definitely a fruitful endeavor. A nice smooth mouthfeel, oats in the house perhaps. Great tropical fruit flavour, not overbearing, natural not puree. A mild easy drinking flavourful juicy IPA with some hops on the finish, crisp but not bitter. Some apropos apps and rousing repartee went well with this very tasty brew.
A great server providing great service and serving great beer. They are weaving gold here I tell you. Gold!
