Flying Monkeys, purveyors of fine IPAs. But can they brew a lager? When I saw this beer on the shelf I had to try it out. I have been impressed with the FM IPA offerings I have tried to date so I was eager to see how they handled a lager.
On the can it poses a deep and important question, “Dreaming of a world where everything works in harmony?” Of course I am. According to FM this lager has “Tickles of spice, snaps of lemon, tiny winks of saltiness.” I wasn’t sure how harmonious that combo was going to turn out. But you know what, it works. Those Flying Monkeys have done it again, made a great tasting beer, this time a lager, a “Modern” lager no less.
A lager flavour but light and easy drinking. Light in the glass and light going down. Fresh and refreshing. Lager but a bit different in a very good way. This is a modern lager!
Well done Flying Monkeys, once again you have surprised and impressed me. I guess I can call myself a modern lager drinker now.
