Broadhead’s slogan is “Work hard, drink easy”. Certainly not as profound as some of the meanderings on a Flying Monkeys beer can, but somehow appropriate for this down to earth beer. For us COMDB I would revise the slogan to read “Work hard, retire with far less than half what you earned during your working life after paying taxes out the ying-yang, drink.” Maybe not as catchy or as to the point as Broadhead’s saying, but painfully accurate. Let’s hope this beer isn’t as bitter as I am.
A nice golden pour, a bit hazy or maybe that is just me. Not a broad head at all, it’s as slim as my chances of winning the lottery.* Mild malt aroma, not a lot there in the aroma department. A fairly bland first swig but after a couple of quaffs a nice flavour developed. Broadhead does describe their beers as “flavourful yet approachable”. Almost a sweet finish, or maybe that’s just my sweet disposition.** A smooth drinking nice standard craft lager.
