it’s quittin’ time *. I have vivid memories of the Slate Quarry supervisor pulling the tail of some pre-historic parrot, and Fred Flintstone yelling yabba dabba doo* and sliding down the tail of his quarry crane dinosaur and hot footing his way home. I don’t think anyone ever said “It’s quittin’ time”* on the show***, but the sentiment was clear.
But now it’s quaffin’ time, and I’m reaching for what Sleeping Giant claim is an easy drinking shortie. A nice golden clear pour with lots of bubbles heading top side to a thin white head. Very bubbly. A malt aroma, hops are absent with leave. The first swig was a fresh fruit malt combo, but surprisingly and thankfully no fizz despite all the carbonation in the pour. As the initial fruit departed what resulted was a predominant and great malt flavour, no bite zing hops bitters or aftertaste. Smooth and delicious. Just a great beer.
