What is this March madness? No glass no class, from the bottle and full throttle. In an executive decision I decided I’m not going to wash a glass for 330 ml of ice cold lager that’s going to go down quicker than a Mike Tyson opponent. And I don’t care what day it is, I’m not drinking anything green today.

Yes, March madness begins, where every game is like the final game of the NBA playoffs for these kids, even if they are 6’9” tall 220 pound kids.

And although there is no such thing as a Mockingjay, there really is a Kingfisher * and they are found all over the world although they tend to prefer warmer climes. We have had a guest review of this brew served from a bar in India, home of United Breweries and the brand, although this particular bottle was brewed in the UK by Camerons under license.**

This easy drinking lager seems to be a natural right out of the bottle brew. Refreshing with a touch of sweet, no bitters or hops. A bit of a crisp finish. A standard, back to basics, down to earth, nothing fancy, meat and potatoes lager. An ice bucket of these bottle rockets dockside on a hot day would be just the ticket. This one was my ticket to March madness, let the games begin.

*Editor’s Comment: The Mockingjay is a fictional bird from the book series “The Hunger Games” where the odds are never in your favour if you are a pledge. The Kingfisher is one of the few birds where the female is more brightly coloured than the male, which should in no way be construed as a sexist comment on my part.

**Editor’s Comment: Many international breweries have their name brands brewed as per their original recipe and ingredients under license by local breweries.
