Out of Left Field and into my glass, one Bird Watcher. Our baseball crazy brewer is obviously referring to a major league baseball team. Of the 30 teams in the major leagues only three of them have gone to the birds. The Orioles, the Cardinals, and the Blue Jays are all looking for that Sweet Spot and entertaining us with double plays and Laser Shows.
The last bird watching of the season would have been the Orioles getting sweeped by the Texas Rangers on October 10th. If you were watching a baseball game in November it would have been game 5 of the World Series on November 1st, the last game of the year, with Texas shutting out Arizona for the win. By the time November rolls around there is hockey, football, and basketball on the tube too. Which may explain why this year’s World Series had the lowest number of viewers ever.*
But were not here to discuss Neilsen ratings, were here for the suds ratings, were here for the beer. This one is straw light and near clear, this pour screams easy drinking. Bordering on light but not quite, this brew sure looks light in the glass, with a bubble or two but only a few.** A light malt fresh aroma. First taste is a light refreshing lager with a touch of apple in the mix. Smooth, no hops or bitters, very easy drinking. The fruit fades giving way to a traditional light lager, it would be an ideal quaff at the ball park, and did OK last night watching the hockey game. I guess it would have been a perfect brew to watch the Penguins play the Ducks.***
