Our Blue Jay boys of summer are getting warmed up in good ol’ Dunedin FLA. now, and I am sure the Left Field team are excited for the season to start. A double play can get you out of a tough inning if you’re a pitcher or break your heart if you’re at the plate swinging for the fences. We’ll see if this double play is an inning maker or a heartbreaker. I’m game.

You may think a laser show is referring to a Pink Floyd rock concert, but in baseball lingo it refers to an awe-inspiring demonstration of line drive hitting,* so here’s hoping this laser show double IPA will hit the spot.

A hazy yellow orange golden glove pour, with a thin white head floating in the rafters where I usually get my tickets. A hazy hoppy aroma with a tropical juice backstop. Grapefruit league bitters with a fizz factor, double bubble refreshing. Definitely grapefruit bitters for that line drive zing, with a nice tropical juice body. The bitters subside a bit but never leave the field. A classic double, strong but not boozy. It’s a hit.

*Editor’s Comment: Dustin Pedroia, second baseman for the Boston Red Sox from 2006 to 2019, coined the phrase “Laser Show” which became his nickname. Pedroia was American League rookie of the year in his debut season, and American League MVP the next season. He was a 4 time gold glove winner.
