What we have here is a rough tough buff marsupial kickin’ ass with those oversized flipper feet of his. That’s right, it’s a kung fu Kungaroo heralding from the land downunder we assume. By the way, Australia is the only country that’s also a continent. Coincidentally it’s also the only continent that’s a country. One could say that Australia is in-continent, although some of our friends from Aussie land may get pissed off at that comment. Better stop digressing and get brewing and reviewing.

This Boshkung Kungaroo pours pale ale dark, an off-white head in the offing and set for quaffing. Funky fruit with a hop chaser on the nose. The first taste is a mild malt citrus combo with bitters front to back and after. Bitters backed off a bit, and I’m chuffed to bits about that. Settling into a nice fruit malt combo with mild finishing bitters, ahh yes, brilliant.

An English IPA as opposed to the one we are use to. Is it used to, or use to? I guess it all depends on what you are use to, or used to.* Anyway, a hoppy finish and aftertaste displaced the previous bitterness, but  some grapefruit bitters came back for a final grassy narrows (Boshkung) hoorah. Although I wouldn’t call this an easy drinking beer it sure went down easy! Just the right mix of everything all at once, the malt, the fruit, the hops, and bitters. It’s not complex it’s just …. English, yes that’s it. Just like that shot around the eight ball to sink the fifteen in the corner pocket, it’s got some English on it, or in it. Whatever it’s got, its good.

*Editor’s Comment: Here are a few examples as they would apply to our reviewer. “Used to” is usually used with something routine. “I am used to having a beer every night” or something that happened often in the past, “I used to have a beer every night”. “Use to” usually follows the word “did”, as in “did you use to have a beer every night?” or “I didn’t use to get ragged on for having a beer every night.” You get the picture.

Reviewer's Comment: I don't know if I'll ever get use to you.

Editor's Comment: That's supposed to be "get used to."

Final Rating: They Put Some English On It for a 16 out of 20
