We have found ourselves in the Burdocks a few times in the past year. There was that memorable Tuesday night on a Sunday. Then we got lost in Vermont. But finally we got all our Bur-ducks in a row and here we are, this time not with their Ducks but with their Deluxe.
Deluxe meaning of a high quality, luxurious, elegant, sumptuous, in a word superior.* Apparently one of those English words that’s French. From the French “de luxe” which our COMDB translation department told us means “of luxury”. Then they added that “Duh luxe” means “luxury, stupid”. Now that was uncalled for, both literally and figuratively.
A tall boy Burdock Deluxe from can to glass in a flash. A fireside pour, golden as it name suggests, with next to no froth to delay the inevitable quaff. Malt aroma, classic lager on the nose. And the taste is the same, full middlin’ malt with some mild bitters lead to an understated crisp finish, no sweet in there. Smooth and easy drinking. Just a real nice smooth lager.
