Ducks I have no problem with. The otter that shits on my dock, that’s a different matter. The Department of Morality loves the playful little rodent but she isn’t the one washing down the dock. Today he left the remains of a crayfish (claws that’s all) and his calling card. He surfed and turfed. Geese will turn any grass you have into a minefield of steaming green tootsie rolls. The seagulls will white-wash everything. The ducks are cool customers, they cruise as couples and don’t leave anything in their wake but their wake.
A Ducks in the glass is worth far more than two in the bay. A Burdock’s beer Ducks that is. A hazy citrus OJ pour, looks simply mahvelous.* Heads up and bright white. A very juicy aroma, mango, pineapple tropical, it smells as mahvelous as it looks. First quaff is fizzy and not nearly as juicy as the nose had supposed. What it does have lots of is grapefruit bitters from mid-point to the finish. There is less juice and more bitters than expected. A bit of balance would be just ducky. But the mild juice and pronounced grapefruit bitters are starting to grow on me, it is certainly refreshing. Actually, a nice BBQ IPA, the crispy bitters brew went well with my crispy burnt burger.
