The Hill folk start out their description of this IPA with the texting acronym IYKYK. I don’t know what that means, but what I do know is that every Caledon Hills brew to date has achieved super suds status. * Will this brew be king of the hill or are we heading for a foggy mountain breakdown? ** Time to pour and score this grog of fog.
A golden pour, dark but not ominous, with a foggy foam topper, frothy and solid. Tropical aromatic, sweet juicy and soft on the nose. The first taste is sweet tropical with mild malt to a hoppy mellow backend bite. It has a soft mouthfeel. What started as a sequence has begun blending into a busy and tasty concoction. Perhaps fitting the foggy foam is a solid persistent head that won’t settle for just anyone including me. Big swig brings out some grapefruit bitters which stay in balance with the fruit sweet. A satisfying sequence that turns into enjoyable ensemble. And the super suds streak continues for CH.
