Experiencing a few of the seven deadly sins* may have you temporarily in seventh heaven,** but eventually it doesn’t matter how many sevens you roll, your luck will run out. Having seven 7’s would definitely qualify you for one of the sins, but I think (hope) I am safe with my one and done approach.
As for this 7, it’s a 7% solution, but Riverhead tells us that this brew is 7 cheers for 7 years of beers. Another anniversary I’m late for, but the least I could do was to join in the celebration with an anniversary toast. And we all know it’s just a pour without a score. So here goes.
A golden hazy OJ pour has me lusting for this brew. A juicy tropical aroma with some hops in tow has me felling lucky. The first swig is a great tropical juice body with some hoppy tang and a bit of a double IPA funky finish. Very tasty. Not quite double IPA boozy but not far off.
Watching Sunday Night Football and an ad comes on for a new season of Grey’s Anatomy.*** That show is so old they should change the name to Grey Anatomy.
This brew evolves a bit, and graces my palette with a slow 7% burn on the aftertaste, an afterburner that I’m warming to. Tropical juice, hops, and funk are all in balance. A solid high ABV not quite a double IPA. Riverhead’s 7 is one beer you can count on.
