Is this another red trying to pass itself off as an amber (see Ember review)? Is it a red or is it an amber? Neither, it’s Ambear. Looks pretty dark to me, I certainly wasn’t seeing red. Nice pour, dark with a bright white head, it looked so pretty I had to take a picture.

Quaffed one with the game where the Leafs once again took it on the chin. A thrilling comeback all for naught due to some errant (shitty) puck handling. I am no pro hockey coach but some good advice in any sport is if you are going to pass, pass it to someone on your team, not the other team.

Despite not enjoying the results of the game, I did enjoy my amber Ambear. Flavourful like an amber but with the feel of a red? They say “ like the black bear it is complex, intelligent and incredibly unique.” Would that be unique like the 1,000s of black bears roaming through the garbage dumps across the country? So it’s as smart as a bear? If I remember correctly Yogi is smarter than your average bear and he was never too bright. Maybe it reads big thick books when it is not being drunk. I sometimes read books when I am not being drunk, but that doesn’t qualify me for MENSA.

Despite all the lofty and unverifiable claims this is a good beer. Not quite a smooth as some ambers* but great flavour.
