Big castles, no hassles.
I myself am a member of the curious club and like Alice, at times I follow a curious creature comfort down the rabbit hole so to speak. Enter Curious Creatures Beer Corp. out of Langley, British Columbia. I’ve never been to Langley but I remember passing by on my V-Twin on my way to the White Rock International Sand Castle Building Competition way back in the day.* Sand and suds in abundance. A sweet ride at low tide.

That’s a fine looking family you have there Alfred.
Where were we, oh yes. Time for some art appreciation with Curious Creatures and their Gallery Wall, with a number of ancestral portraits on display including of course Alfred, the most curious creature of all, a top hat doffing toad of some distinction.
Alfred’s Czech pale has a golden slightly hazy landscape, well framed by a slim white head. Picture perfect, Louvre material. Malt nose. First taste is malt with a sharp dry and mildly bitter finish. So sharp I almost cut myself! Sharper than a Don Rickles come back. The finish makes for a super refreshing quaff. A nicely malt flavoured body with a hop bitter crisp finish. Big swig report; malt smooth mini lager sweet followed by super crisp pils like hops and touch of bitter on the finish. Suspicions confirmed, this is a big swigger for sure.
Great tasting, easy drinking and the transition from malt smooth to crisp dry finish is well done. Curiosity satisfied, for now.

According to Sebastien, the Curious Brewer, they are now brewing out of Richmond, BC. However, this batch was actually brewed in Port Coquitlam. And to make things more confusing, they’re technically based out of Tsawwassen. It all seems curiously confusing to us, but no problem as long as the beer keeps tasting this good.
