A single exposure of Double Exposure
I’m doing double duty tonight with some big numbers from Cowbell. At 8% and 55IBU this is every bit a double in more ways than one, as in two, which I guess is what you would expect from a double, isn’t it? Thank goodness it’s not a daily double, that would be double trouble.
Tonight’s double feature is Double Exposure, and we aren’t talking about a Mae West performance or a Pee Wee Herman “show”. * We also aren’t talking about some fancy pants photography, get the picture.** We’re talking beer here. Both JT and I enjoyed Cowbell’s Shindig, a party in a can. Time to double down and down this double.
Hazy orange with a slim trim head that evaporated on the double. A tropical citrus mango tango on the nose, with the prerequisite double hops of course. First taste is a smooth super juicy citrus tropical with some rough and ready bitters. Purée level juicy with 55 IBU bitters makes for a feisty quaff. Big time juicy and big bad bitters result in a lot of funk in the trunk. This high octane brew is slow going. No big swigs tonight. Ok, one big swig that I couldn’t resist and immediately regretted. Lots of flavour to go with the big bitters.
A double in every way, these not-so-subtle suds are only for IPA lovers ready to take it to the next level.
*Editor’s Comment: In 1927 Mae West was charged with indecent exposure when the police raided her comedy play “Sex”. The whole cast was also charged. In 1991 Paul Reubens (Pee Wee Herman) was charged with indecent exposure while in an adult movie theatre with friends.
**Editor’s Comment: Your IPhone doesn’t have a double exposure feature but you can create double exposure pictures without downloading an App. Here’s how:
1. Make sure to enable Live Photos on your iPhone camera.
2. Switch to 3x lens
3. And while tapping the shutter button, at the same time switch back to 1x lens
4. Open the photo, tap on Live
5. And choose Long Exposure
