No, this isn’t a new Netflix “Original” movie title or a Marvel franchise. By the way, I think Netflix Original is an oxymoron. Isn’t every one of those movies just a remake of an older movie with less expensive actors? I guess if you are under 40 you probably don’t remember those old movies anyway, so enjoy your Netflix “Originals”. And what about those X-Men? Aren’t a bunch of them women? You would think in this enlightened day and age it would be X-People or X-Guys&Gals. And just because the mutants aren’t that good looking is no reason to call them revolting. But I digress.
Another crazy IPA from those creepy crazy Flying Monkeys. The can design looks like a flashback from a 70’s acid party with Carlos Santana and Timothy Leary. I must have spent 20 minutes reading the can and trying to make sense of it. I can’t decide whether these are profound statements or crazy monkey ramblings. “Succumb to insistent expression.” Or how about this one. “Don’t get too smug, we are just temporary winners in the lottery of creation.” Deep or dippy, the jury is still out on that. I think I came away from reading the can less intelligent that when I started.* Sounds like the same effect as going to a 70’s acid party with Carlos Santana and Timothy Leary. But it seems their creative designs (flashbacks) have not impacted their ability to brew a good IPA.
“Crushable” is not a reflection on the structural integrity of the beer can but is beer slang for an easygoing, super-drinkable beer. Which happens to be quite an accurate description. Brisk, refreshing and not too hoppy, this west coast style IPA hit the spot. Those creepy crazy flying monkeys have done it again, brewed another great IPA.
