Trying out Katalyst’s (their spelling, not mine) Passion Project. Even though it is their passion, it appears to me that the ABV, the aroma and the flavour are all moderate in the traditional IPA world. It reminds me of the ancient saying “all things in moderation.”* I like Oscar Wilde’s take on the subject more “Everything in moderation, including moderation.”** Enough of the English lesson, we all know how to read***.
Poured hazy and heady, but I’ve seen hazier. Some hops and fruit in the aroma, in moderation. The taste is mild fruit with a bit of a hoppy finish, some bitters in there but moderate to negligible. An easy drinking mild all around IPA. Melon! Where did that come from? I think they have every fruit in there (all in moderation) except tomato. All mild, nice, all elements in moderation.
