As we continue our cross Canada coast to coast toast to the country with the most, after some island hopping we continue West until we finally reach the mainland, Nova Scotia, the land of the Bluenose and Anne Murray.
At the 2nd annual COM AGM (annual golf meeting) we sampled a number of fine upstanding brews, even though some of the cranky old men weren’t up standing towards the end of the festivities. Out of 22 crafts poured and scored the surprise winner of the evening with the highest score was Get the Hell Out Stout, an uninviting sounding but quite tasty brew from Nine Locks. Surprise because not all the COM are stout men, although none of them are exactly wasting away.
A dark foreboding pour with a subdued tan topper. A well balanced coffee chocolate oatmeal stout with a dark chocolate slightly bitter finish. It had universal appeal for the cranky old men, except of course for our token (tokin’) non beer drinker, who was keeping score until that simple task became to taxing.
So here’s a shout out to Get the Hell Out Stout, a hell of a stout without a doubt.
