Despite the confusing name Whiskeyjack*, I do like that they call themselves a beer company rather than a brewery. I’m not sure why that naming appeals to me, it just does. Do I have to explain everything? It’s an opinion dammit.
According to the can “this beer is like that first breath of -40° C northern winter air.” That description certainly didn’t give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about this cream ale which comes out of South River, but brought back memories of freezing my ass (and other unmentioned extremities) off before a high school dance** drinking warm Canadian quickly so it wouldn’t freeze before we finished the case. Enough fond reminiscing, we have a beer to review. The other claim on the can is “ crisp and dry” which is very accurate. Forget about the -40 degree C freeze your ass off descriptor, this is a great tasting beer. It would be perfect as an ice-cold summer brew of choice.
