The universe, bent and beautiful.
Bend the universe sounds like a bit of a stretch goal to me. Bending the rules tends to be more my speed. In fact, a real stretch goal for me is to bend my knees every morning when I get up. But I’ve seen the Northern Lights on enough occasions to know that the universe does bend and it hasn’t broken yet. Interestingly enough, COMDB is broke and some would say I’m bent, * but be assured I am straight, and the Department of Morality can attest to that.
Made with the exclusive and expensive Riwaka hops from the Land of the Long White Cloud, Dominion City’s Bend the Universe is an occurrence as rare as an honest politician, and I would venture to say just as refreshing. **
A cloudy orange pour with a slim bright white head, it is a pretty pint, or partial pint as the case may be. Citrus mango tropical aromas, it almost smells creamy. A full nosefeel? The taste is citrus tropical bordering on sweet, with a full mouthfeel, followed by an easy going grapefruit bitter backstop. It is creamy. The fruit and bitters merge at times for some funk, then go back to being sequenced. It is very tasty, easy drinking and a bit unique within the vast selection of IPAs today.
I don’t think it is on DC’s shelves at the moment but if you do see it come out it’s worth a try.
