Blatant TS Reference to Boost Viewership

“Cause baby, now we got bad blood, You know it used to be mad love.”*  I avoided some obvious ill vampire jokes because I figured a blatant and shameless Taylor Swift reference would boost our website viewership. I mean look what it did for the NFL.** Now about this Merchant Ale House beer. In a past review of their amber lager I commented that “if this is their amber I’m eager to see what their dark will taste like”. The wait is over, there will be blood tonight! ***

This big bad blinged out bottle of Bad Blood pours so dark it had me reflecting on it, literally. A porter like appearance to go with it’s full roasted malt porter like aroma. Smells great. The watery lager mouthfeel stands out on first quaff, and a porter like countenance in the taste department as well. Full on roast and touch of larger sweet, then a slight bitter finish. Dark roasted malt full flavour with a light easy drinking body. This cross between a porter and a lager gives us the best of both worlds.

About as close to a porter as you can get without having to tip one for carrying your bags.

*Editor’s Comment: From Taylor Alison Swift’s 2014 song “Bad Blood” from her album “1989”. The song’s video won the Grammy for Best Music Video. The topic of the song is a feud between a former friend, it has been speculated that it is about Katy Perry. What Frank Sinatra once said may apply here, "The best revenge is massive success."

**Editor’s Comment: Since Taylor Swift has been attending NFL games viewership among teen girls increased by 53% from the season-to-date average. The audience among women ages 18-24 was up 24%, while viewership for women over the age of 35 increased 34%. Don’t be surprised if this impacts what gets advertised during football games. Also don’t be surprised if this reference has no impact whatsoever on this website’s viewership.

***Editor’s Comment: In the movie “The Princess Bride”, Inigo Montoya (played brilliantly by Mandy Patinkin) upon learning the whereabouts of his father’s killer, exclaims “There will be blood tonight.”
